Here we are, this is your starting point to grow your own!
To start growing, you won’t put directly the seeds in their final big pots, you will need to plant them in a very small pot (see picture above), so that they can start to sprout. Once they will have several little leaves, then you will transplant them into a bigger pot.
GET STARTED WITH YOUR SEEDLINGS
You can use every small recipients you have at home like a yoghurt packaging or you can buy these kinds of biodegradable pots, the transplanting process will be even more easier.
So, take the recipient you choose, put this kind of organic soil in it, tamp the ground and water it. Once the soil is wet, make a little hole of 2 cm deep (with your finger), put one seed in the hole and cover the hole with the soil. You’re all set! You just need now a little patience and to make sure that the soil stays humid. Your seed will sprout after a week or two, sometimes just after a few days!
Once you see some sprouts, let the plant develop a little more so that it has a good size with several little leaves. When you see two or three little leaves, then it will time for you to transplant your little baby into its final bigger pot.
TRANSPLANTING YOUR SEEDLINGS
This step is very important and you need to be careful as this will be key for your plant to develop correctly. Your little seed has grown and has started to create roots in your small recipients. These roots need to stay intact so that your plant will then adapt to its bigger pot.
> If you chose to use a yoghurt pot, put the ground and the plant out of the recipient carefully, make a hole of the same size in your final pot, insert your plant, tamp the ground and water it.
> If you chose to go for a biodegradable pot, then you do not need to put the ground & your plant out of the recipient, just put the recipient as it is into your bigger pot/container. The roots will develop throughout the pot and then to your soil.
You’ve done the most important work of transplanting correctly & carefully your seedling, your plant now will develop weeks after weeks into its bigger pot, creating deeper roots to grow bigger & better. Enjoy watching, this is the beauty and a wonder of Nature! You just gave birth to a little plant which will hopefully develop healthily and giving birth later to amazing organic tasty veggies!
